The Spanish economic crisis is being felt across Spain in a multitude of different ways .In Alicante Province there are already several towns which are without ambulances at night .This has been brought about by the latest round of health cuts .
The Department of Health has said that cuts will be made to SMU and BLS ambulances with some towns losing their night service .
If there is an emergency in these towns at night then the ambulances will have to be called in from other nearby towns and so their time of arrival could make the difference between life or death .
Crevillent is losing its night service and now this will be covered from Elche which is 15 minutes away by road .Alicante City and San Juan de Alicante will also lose parts of their service .Workers have agreed to these cuts as long as it means keeping their jobs .
