Costa Blanca Villas and apartments for holidays

Probably the best way to spend your Costa Blanca Holidays or to enjoy your stay looking for property is to rent a nice holiday villa with a pool, or a holiday apartment close to the sea, but where to rent?

The Costa Blanca is divided in 2 regions, the Costa Blanca south and the Costa Blanca north. In the north you have Denia, Javea, Moraira, Calpe, Altea and Benidorm. The Southern part contains Alicante, Santa Pola, Guardamar and Torrevieja as their main coast towns. The northern part is the greenest of the both, coming from the north, just before Alicante, the landscape begins to contain less trees and other vegetation. The greenest part is the part between Benidorm and Moraira.

In Benidorm the temperature on the beach will always be around 5 degrees higher than temperatures in the rest of the region. This effect is caused by the fact that the big mountain just behind Altea, called the Sierra Bernia is blocking all the bad weather coming from the northern part of Spain. This creates an effect called a “rain shade” and will cause the temperature and humidity to rise. This is the reason for the beautiful vegetation in the surroundings of Benidorm. Some people say it is so warm on the beach because all the big apartment buildings are blocking the wind and the windows are reflecting the sun….. But I really don’t know about this..

So, what is the perfect place for me to look for Costa Blanca Villas or Costa Blanca Apartments ?

In the southern Costa Blanca you will have lots of choices among Torrevieja, Guardamar and Santa Pola. Torrevieja is a good choice if you would like a cheap no-nonsense holiday where you just care about the sun and don’t bother where you are.

Benidorm apartments would be good if you just like to go out a lot, go to the beach and love the nightlife.

Altea villas will be your perfect choice if you like nice views on the Altea and Albir bay from the Altea Hills or Golf Don Cayo urbanisations.

Albir Apartments suit you best if you want to be away from the crazy Benidorm, but not to far away from the beach, at least if you don’t mind that the beach of Albir is a pebble stone beach. Albir is just 3 minutes with the car from Benidorm.  A villa in Albir is also possible to rent, but the choice is not very big and the prices are often higher than the rest of the area.

In Calpe you can either rent apartments or villas at good prices and the Calpe beach and boulevard are very nice, as is the view to the Calpe rock, the “Peñon de Ifag”.

If you drive up from Calpe to Moraira you will drive along the coast on a beautifully (but curvy) road with lots of nice holiday villas. If you really want to be far away from it all, this is the place to be.

Moraira is a beautiful little town where you can rent both holiday villas and holiday apartments. It has a nice beach and the atmosphere is friendly. Very well suited for families that want peace and quietness.

Javea has a very nice beach and boulevard, with always lots of activities in the summer, the beach is called “El Arenal” . Javea is not at the coast, the old town is a little bit inland and at quite some distance from the Arenal beach. In Javea you can rent also very large villas for good prices. Also you can find some nice apartments near the Arenal beach at economic prices.

Denia is also very nice and also a lot bigger than Javea, well known for it´s port; you can take the boat to Ibiza if you like, or even Mallorca.

Wherever you want to make your holiday and if you want to be in the quiet Moraira or in the wildness from Benidorm or Torravieja, if you can rent a car you can visit all the nice spots around the area.

Also if you are planning on buying a house it always a good idea to take a good look around in the various areas if you do not already know them. Than, if you are home again you can search your favourite areas on the AMLA site for your perfect Costa Blanca property !
